Seed Cycling

If you have mood swings, irregular periods, cramping during mense and all the other common side effects then listen up! It is not necessary. I started seed cycling and it is easy and effective.
Day 1-14 eat organic, raw and ground flax seed or pumpkin seed, fish oil and whole chia seeds. 1-2 tablespoons daily.
Day 15-28 take evening primrose oil, raw ground sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. 1-2 tablespoons daily.
I had never ate or knew that I could eat the seeds from a chia pet. Okay, so those seeds I wouldn't want to eat because they are from a "pet," but they are the same seeds. I bought them at the healthfood store. I will probably go to Fred Meyer next time, now that I know what I am looking for.
Oh, I almost forgot... if you have such an irregular cycle that you don't know where you are, then follow the moon. I am not sure which one phase of the moon you count as day 1 though. Sorry. (Yippee! I am no longer at that stage.)
The house is great. We love it. I have been very busy at work. I get a new student on Monday.

Fat A Pet Peeve

I have been thinking lately as to why some peanut butter companies take the fat out of peanut butter in order to either make it healthier or to sell it. I am confused by this because peanut butter is really high in good fat. If it is good fat then why are they taking it out? By taking the fat out of peanut butter, they are making it unhealthy. Can anyone explain this to me?
A person should be eating no trans fat, a little (10%) saturated and about 30 % of the diet should be unsaturated.
I think I am going to go eat a spoon full of regular, full fat, no sugar added peanut butter. Seriously, it is healthy. It has protein, carbs, good fat and fiber all in one.

Outside pictures because my mom asked for them

Back yard. Not much to see. Sorry
 Front yard
Front yard view of garage.

More pictures of the house

Spare downstairs bedroom. This is the biggest bedroom aside from the master bedroom.
Another view of the same spare bedroom
Kitchen. I will be painting this next weekend.
An actual linen closet. This is something I was deprived of in the other house.
A 2 car garage that currently won't hold one car. It is looking tons better now. I actually have paths and trails leading to more boxes.
This is the arctic entryway. I ripped up a nasty, nasty blue carpet before this picture was taken. The joys of being able to rip up a carpet just because you don't like it. I love owning a home.
Another view of the same kitchen.  Apparently my pictures got out of order.
Another view of the arctic entryway. Jim installed the water softener last night and it works wonderful. That is another thing I absolutely love. My husband is really good and knows how to install, fix and take out objects. He knows how they are supposed to work.
A laundry room that is not part of the garage. This is really nice.
The staircase that leads to the master bedroom, the future nursery (when that happens) and the upstairs bathroom.
 Upstairs bathroom
Another view of the upstairs bathroom. There are two doors. One leads to the master and the other to the hall.

This is the front yard. We were cutting down the trees and cutting them up for firewood. We will be getting a boiler within the year to help with the cost of heating this huge place. The quad is mine and is there because we were using it to pull the trees to the back yard. Cutting trees is another one of Jim's talents.
The master bedroom is huge. We could easily fit two king size beds.
 Sally in the front yard.
The future nursery, but is currently the office.
Another view of the office.
These are all new pictures I was not able to figure out how to get them off my phone onto the computer. However, these pictures are better because we are more moved in. The pics on the phone are mainly boxes.

Pictures of the house

Living Room as you could probably figure out. As you can tell from the pictures we are close to being completely moved in but not quite done yet. I start work on Tuesday, so I am frantically unpacking and organizing before I have to go back to work. I would say I am not doing bad for being in the house for a week.
 Dining Room
 Stairs and my keyboard
The "playroom" It has Jim's XBox and my Wii. It also has the spare bed for company.
Downstairs bathroom. It is a full bath, but I can only fit so much into a picture.

Our New House

It has been a while but that is because we have been very super busy.
I went to Washington for my mom's birthday.
Jim has been working about 16 hour days trying to get things accomplished at work. They are in the process of hiring a second person for the additional work. I can't wait for that to happen so I can see my husband more.
Mean while back at the house, I packed up boxes and more boxes and realized we accumulated more than I thought over the last 4 years. It is scary how things creep up out of corners like that. Note to self, go through the house more often than every 4 years for garage sale items.
Well, I packed all those boxes because we bought a house. We love it. I took pictures with my smart phone, but apparently my computer and my smart phone aren't that smart because they don't know how to communicate. If I ever figure it out, you will get to see the pictures. If not, I will have to find my camera in the pile of boxes and take different pictures. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I still exist

Sorry about the long time, no hear.
After my elbow accident, I found myself not living my diet, not exercising, and doing a lot of reading. My elbow is still not 100%. I am thinking it will never be back to its original abilities.
However, I am back on my diet. After school got out, I automatically switched over. Literally over night. This did a number on my system for about 24 hours. I notice a huge difference and I missed being on this. I forgot how nice it was. If I hadn't hurt my elbow, it would have been so much easier.
What I have been up to
  • Finished school on May 22.
  • went to Anchorage on May 23rd. While there, went to target, J C Penny, the temple, Organic Oasis (restaurant that I can totally eat at and not break my diet. So worth the it!) I went with a Friend and had soooo much fun we are planning another trip for August.
  • Babysat for some friends.
  • Starting a writing class on Thursday.
I will be teaching the same grade and same school next year. I changed rooms, but it was because I wanted to be next to the other third grade classrooms.

Sorry, I am not that entertaining.

Valentine's Day Gone bad

Because Valentine's day is in the middle of the week, and we both work, I planned an early Valentines day for this weekend at Chena Hot Springs. Well, we stayed the night, went in the hot springs  wanted to go see the norhtern lights but the tour was booked. The next morning, we checked out of our hotel, went to breakfast at the restaruant, and then proceeded to the dog sled ride we signed up for.
Well, this is where it went all wrong. We climbed in the sled and not 3 minutes later we were on the trail. The dogs were excited and moving right along when they decided to take a corner a little too sharp and quick. This caused the sled to tip over. The lady that was on the back of the sled fell off, Jim and I both fell out. I landed on the bottom. My arm got the worst of it. My left elbow was underneath the sled and Jim. The dogs kept going which caused my elbow to be in much more of a bad situation as it was still under the sled.
The good news is, it is not broken. However, we all thought is was because I couldn't move it, it was horribly swollen (still is) and already had a bruise forming before we could even get the x rays done. I don't bruise easily. I am sore on the upper part of my body today. I feel it in my left elbow, my right shoulder and a little in my neck.
Jim cut his knee. It isn't a horrible cut, but it sure bled like it was. He is stiff in his legs today. So, between the two of us, we have one whole body and one broken body.
To make matters worse, I either have the flu, or am vomiting from all the stress my body went through. We are not sure which.
My exercise for my arm includes grabbing a saltine cracker and slowly bring it to my mouth, so I can keep it from getting more stiff.
I have been reading my book, The Hunger Games, today. However, I can no longer read it because I got to page 122 and it went back to page 91. I figured, I'll just turn to the next page that says 122 and then I will find 123. Nope, it skips straight to page 155. My weekend just keeps getting better and better. ARG!!

Sad News with a little Seaweed

So, I was normal, for a little while. I don't know why, or what I did differently, but I don't have the regular cycle anymore. My cysts are back according to the ultrasound I had today. I don't know why I the periods and now nothing. My thinking is it could be stress from work, not eating as healthy as I should since I haven't made the time to do so with work, or it could be that I haven't been exercising. Anyway, it could be all of those things mixed together. I don't know. I just know the diet works and I need to stick to it harder than I have been along with the exercise and making the stress go down.
I bought a new book called, "Secrets of Longevity Hundreds of ways to live to be 100," by Dr. Mao Shing Ni. He has a lot of good information, most of which I already know, but he brought up a new thing I have not heard of. Seaweed has iodine in it, naturally! Not the added stuff that is in table salt. (Which, bytheway, I stopped eating. I now eat sea salt.) Iodine has been linked to help with thyroid problems, goiters and cysts! So, I decided to try it. My facial hair, attitude and everything but my cysts are good. So, If I just need to get rid of cysts, then why not have some seaweed! I bought and tried some yesterday. (Before I found out my cysts were like glue and sticking to me.) It was revolting! I thought it wouldn't be that bad. Apparently it is an aquired tasted. Then I was thinking that maybe it was the type. You know how spinach tastes good raw but not canned? So, I bought some in a soup mix. It was better, but I still didn't like it. So, I tried cooking it differently, and still didn't like it. I finally broke down and bought it in pill form. I don't taste it, and it goes down quickly. WOW! How easy was that?. I also plan on exercising and sticking to my diet more so that I can be regular again. I tend to do reverse my eating habits when I see things working and then think ok I am good. Then I start eating badly again. I can't do that anymore. ARG!
Everything else is still normal. I still have lower levels of testosterone, and my A1C and all that is still normal according to my last test. It's just the cysts! They're nasty and annoying! I think they are worse than seaweed!
